The association supports handicapped citizens in all situations of life. A major concern was and still is the support of cultural events for and with handicapped people.
Due to the association´s initiative in cooperation with the Initiative Tschernobyl the blind choir from Belarus/Minsk visited the region around Leisnig for already two times; the choir performed a well respected concert in the Kempinski Hotel in Dresden.
After the flood catastrophe in August 2002, which had a significantly bad impact on Klosterbuch, the association incorporated the help for people in emergencies and the support for emergency services in its statute.
Furthermore the association, in collaboration with the Waldheim penitentiary, the re-integration of delinquent people, e.g. by the occupation of inmates, who are allowed to leave the penitentiary for a certain time, on the Fachwerkhof Klosterbuch, and placements after they are once discharged from prison.
A very good example for that is the support for Mr Frank Schumann, who, after he was discharged, founded his own business as a carpenter. He got the required support by the association and its engaged members.
Ms Pohl-Roux together with her husband Mr Jürgen Pohl is planning to embed the Fachwerkhaus Nr 24/Vorderteil as a foundation in the association Be-Greifen, in a medium term.
Ms Pohl-Roux is member of the Association Kloster Buch e.V.
This association is dedicated to maintain the cultural use the basic structure of the, over 800 years old, former Zisterzienserklosters (monastery) Buch.
